[informatica] MD5 & DownLoads

Sempre piu spesso mi capita si scaricare programmi opensource (ma anche no) che insieme al software che mi interessa mi danno la possibilità di scaricare una stringa MD5.
So che mi serve per verisicare se cio che ho scaricato è realmente cio che intendevo scaricare....ma come faccioad usarlo?

bah... non l'ho mai fatto... ma penso che tu debba fare l'MD5 del file scaricato e poi confrontarlo con quello riportato sul sito.
Cmq dovrebbero esserci dei programmini che lo fanno da soli... così ho sentito in giro...

Per windoz, lavorando un pò da linea di comando, c'è http://www.slavasoft.com/fsum/ (MD5)
Se mi permettete, anche se non vale per gli MD5, c'è SFV-Checker (SFV)

In php c'e' una apposita funzione che da l'hash md5 di un file. Quindi ti fai uno scriptino tipo questo:

$hash_passato="QUESTO_E'_UN_HASH";
$hash_calcolato=md5_file("nome file");
if ($hash_passato==$hash_calcolato) echo "Il file e' ok"; else "sei stato miseramente fottuto";
?>
