Rete locale e Win ME

Ciao a tutti, per caso qualcuno mi sa dire se gli risulta che Win ME avesse problemi con le LAN?

Ho provato a collegare un mio vecchio PC portatile (su cui c'è Win ME) al mio router (sia via wireless che via ethernet) ma non riesco a fargli vedere la rete esterna in nessun modo, al massimo riesco ad accedere al pannello di controllo del router...

Ogni consiglio è ben accetto.

un "passa a linux" ci starebbe bene!

Ad ogni modo per la mia esperienza... con WinMe via ethernet non ci sono problemi. Per il wifi non ti so dire.

controlla che i parametri di rete siano corretti (per es, i dns e il default gateway)

Il problema è che tra le connessioni di rete non riesco ad aggiungere quella alla rete locale, cosa che invece si riesce a fare con XP...

Non credo che ME abbia problemi con le LAN (avevo una LAN di win98 anni fa, e ME e' piu' nuovo)
Semplicemente dovrebbe gestire le connessioni in maniera diversa, prova a cliccare sulle proprieta' di risorse di rete, tcp/ip relativo alla tua scheda di rete e configurare la rete da li

Ok, sono riuscito a collegarlo alla rete locale però adesso si comporta in modo strano... non mi si collega ad alcuni siti... e non mi fa l'aggiornamento dell'antivirus (forse il Symantec Antivirus 9 è troppo vecchio? ).

UPDATE: Ho provato ad installare l'AVG invece del Simantec e mi dice che non riesce a trovare l'IP corrispondente all'indirizzo del server che cerca (sintomo di un problema di DNS)... come DNS principale ho messo 192.168.1.254 (l'indirizzo del router) ma... devo mettere anche DNS secondario? Alice ha un suo DNS? Qualcuno ha avuto problemi simili?

Niente da fare... il bstrd si rifiuta ancora di connettersi... la cosa strana è che ad alcuni siti (tipo Google) mi collega mentre ad altri (tipo quello della Symantec) non mi collega... se non fosse che non si è mai collegato ad Internet mi verrebbe da pensare ad un virus... Mumbe mumble...
