Qualcuno conosce un demone whois un po' completo, che sia in grado almeno di rispondere a query di indirizzi ip e non solo a nomi di dominio e nomi di persona come fa Simple Whois Daemon (http://dan.drydog.com/swhoisd/)?

Potresti scrivere tu uno scriptino in bash con un po' di nslookup, traceroute, finger e quant'altro ti serve.

Infatti.. sto risolvendo con PHP e MySQL: mi serve solo uno strumento comodo per assegnare barre di indirizzi a diverse persone, in modo che queste persone possano vedere le reti già assegnate, richiederne l'assegnazione, verificare la disponibilità di un dato indirizzo ecc..

Whois era una possibilità.. pazienza, mi toccherà fare una cosa molto più fica

Infatti.. sembra esistere solo la loro implementazione (e grazie tante.. sono loro l'authority ) del servizio whois! Solo che per quello che serve a me (gestire l'assegnazione di subnets su spazi di indirizzamento privato) mettere in piedi un dbase come quello di RIPE mi sembra un tantino esagerato.

Meglio fare un servizietto ad-hoc. Posto un link appena pronto, se dovesse servire anche ad altri.
