Domanda un pò stupida...
Come mai da questo progetto non si può usare EasyPhp? Dove sta scritto 'ufficialmente'?
Il prof cosa ci consiglia di usare per le applicazioni in php?

Easyphp ha le estensioni postgres ho visto, teoricamente si potrebbe usare... va beh postgres sono riuscito a installarlo e lo userò. :D

Parole del prof:
quest'anno per il progetto è richiesto l'uso di postgres e php
quindi non è possibile utilizzare EasyPhp perchè fa uso di Mysql.

Domanda mia: cosa usiamo?

Usi posgres! :D
Oltre a postgres devi ovviamente installare apache e php, quando installi php in fase di installazione aggiungi le estensioni postgres

Ho installato Apache e PHP... anche seguendo il pdf di laboratorio...
Avevo una domanda per la configurazione.
Nel pdf l'ultima pagina dice di lanciare go-pear.bat e installarlo in PHP/PEAR...
come faccio a installarlo in quella cartella?

c'è un pdf che spiega l'installazione?
E io che ho fatto tutto senza... vabbè me lo linki per favore? :D

Cmq se leggete indietro anch'io ero piuttosto incazzatello che si passava dal dover installare un programma, a 3 diversi con relativi settaggi. Non me intendo molto di database, ma avendo usato sia postgres che mysql, il primo mi sembra migliore.

Sul sito di laboratorio nel materiale didattico trovi il pdf di 'configurazione'...è quello relativo alla terza lezione.
Nell'ultima pagina di quel pdf si parla dell'istallazione di pear tramite il file go-pear.bat

Ho installato pear, prima l'ho incluso fra le cose da installare nel package di php, poi ho eseguito il go_pear.bat, che ti chiede alcune cose d'installazione ma basta dargli di si a tutto. :D
Volevo provare se questo codice preso dal sito di lab mi funzionava come prova:

$dsn = 'pgsql://postgres:friends@localhost/';
$mdb2 = MDB2::connect($dsn);
if (PEAR::isError($mdb2)) {die($mdb2->getMessage()); echo "not ok";}


Eppure mi dà sempre l'errore "Fatal error: Class 'MDB2' not found" nonostante abbia installato mdb2 e MDB2_Driver_pgsql, dando pear list ottengo questo output:
