Saranno messe in commercio pere e mele addizionate con anidride carbonica.

Presto, accanto all’acqua minerale frizzante, si potrà acquistare anche frutta addizionata con anidride carbonica. Il Centro di innovazione alimentare di Portland, dell’Università dello Stato dell’Oregon, ha infatti presentato la frutta effervescente (fizzy fruit): pere e mele addizionate con gas. Questo risultato è stato ottenuto quasi casualmente dall’inventore texano Galen Kaufman, che ha contattato il centro di Portland per sfruttare commercialmente la sua scoperta. E’ infatti sufficiente porre nello stesso frigorifero ghiaccio secco e frutta perché, sotto determinate condizioni, l’anidride carbonica si trasferisca negli alimenti, aggiungendovi la caratteristica effervescenza tipica delle acque gassate. Secondo gli studiosi, questa innovazione potrebbe favorire il consumo di frutta da parte dei bambini.
