 esercizio DNS

non capisco il seguente esercizio:

per risolvere il nome fox.cs.ucla.edu. con approcio ricorsivo sono necessari 12 passi (considerando 2 passi ogni coppia query/response)

perchè 12? a me viene 10: 2 per dns locale, 2 per root, 2 per edu, 2 per ucla.edu, 2 per cs.ucla.edu, totale 10

ho appena finto si SPARARMI LA VIDEOLEZIONE.... :caffe:
cmq tornando all'esercizio... SE ho capito bene, una volta giunti a "cs.ucla.edu." dovrebbe esserci UN ULTERIORE PASSO , perchè bisogna a sul volta interrogare il name server di "fox.cs.ucla.edu." per ottenere l'indirizzo dell'HOST richiesto...

Passo 1 - il resolver chiede al NS
Passo 2-3 - "."
Passo 4-5 - "edu"
Passo 6-7 - "ucla"
Passo 8-9 - "cs"
Passo 10-11 - "fox"
Passo 12 - NS risponde al resolver

Passo 10-11 - "fox"

Mhhh sicuro che deve chiedere a fox qualcosa ?

Negli esempi che faceva la prof non chiedeva mai al server che deve contattare ma al suo dns locale che gli dava l'ip ....
Arrivato a ucs che e' il suo DNS primario non gli viene dato l'indirizzo di fox ?!

oggi ho chiesto ad un altro ragazzo... e (come avevo accennato nell'altro post) viene chiesto ANCHE AL NAME SERVER DI FOX... nemmeno l'altro giovine sa il perchè, ma concrda con la mia tesi..
Ino gni caso son sicuro che nella videolezione la Pagani faceva anche questo ulteriore passo...

"non chiedetemi il perche, non l'ho mica fatto io lo schema", come direbbe la prof... ;)

si, il name server PER OTTENERE L'INDIRIZZO DEL DOMINO fox E' csa... pero UNA VOLTA ARRIVATO A fox, devi contattare IL SUO name server per ottenre l'IP dell'host...

sembro sicuro... pero come ti ho detto il motivo di questa cosa non mi è chiaro, tutt'altro... di consegunza lo prendo come UN ASSIOMA... ;)

magari mi sono sbagliato... pure tu hai visto la videolezione dove la Pagani speiga la congestion window (sia il caso con 3 ACK duplicatiche quello con scadenza di RTO)... poi appena finita la spiegazione, TRANQUILLAMENTE AGGIUNGE : "Tuttavia la procedra vista prima non è corretta. Oggigiorno infatti viene utilizzata la versione illustrata nel RFC 2581..." :sbonk:
