ZIAO!
ho un piccolo problemino con il mio modem usb sotto linux,di fatto linux si ostina a non vederlo.
vi spiego
le ho provate tutte...
ho scaricato i driver per il mio modem USB (Ericcson hm10dp), ho seguito le istruzoni per mettere su i driver e fin li nessun problema di nessun genere. giunto il momento di attivare il modem (# startmodem | tee log.txt) si ostina a dirmi che non trova il modem...
hopensato inizialmente che fosse un problema di USB, ma mi sbagliavo...ho provato a cambiare tre distribuzioni, tra cui redhat e mandrake, ma anche patchando il kernel (sia 2.4 che 2.6.0) non ho ottenuto risultati....voi che mi consigliate?

startmodem mi dice che usi eciadsl come driver.
Io avevo il tuo stesso modem e non ho mai avuto problemi...
pastami l'output di:

e di

tail -f /var/log/message


dopo aver allacciato il modem alla tua box (senza aver ancora dato startmodem)

e poi dopo aver dato startmodem e dimmi che versione usi di eciadsl...Ciao

o qualcosa di simile nello step 2.

infine io uso Eciadsl 8.0, una CVS. visto che ho su una mandrake snapshot 10 ho messo una patch per i kernel 2.6.0 .

però con la redhat 9 avevo su Eciadsl 7.0, adatto a kernel 2.4 (credo...)

guarda non so che cosa sia un kernel mdk...cmq non ho ricompilato il kernel, anche se e' una delle soluzioni in lista non appena mi pacca l'ultima cosa che ho in testa. non sai dirmi null'altro? ^^
